To begin listing products in the EPEAT registry, manufacturers must join the EPEAT Market Surveillance Entity (MSE) and contract with an EPEAT approved Product Registration Entity (PRE) – we recommend proceeding with both processes simultaneously.
The EPEAT MSE maintains the EPEAT web registry, oversees quality assurance across the EPEAT system, and partners with manufacturer Subscribers to educate buyers and sellers of electronics, governments and the general public about the value of EPEAT registration. EPEAT PREs are organizations that review and qualify product declarations and audit registrations to assure their accuracy.*
PRE Service PREs perform initial review of products registered by manufacturers and pass completed product registrations on to the MSE for inclusion in the EPEAT registry.
Manufacturers may use one or multiple PREs. Each PRE is responsible for ongoing verification investigation of those products registered through their service. These audits are undertaken in coordination with the MSE and the other PREs.
Once a manufacturer has a contract in place with one or more PREs, they select the PRE to handle specific product registrations during the online registration process.
Contracting, pricing, geographic coverage and other business details are individually determined by each PRE. Details of coverage and services must be obtained by contacting them directly.

EPEAT MSE Service For products to appear in the EPEAT registry and be identified as “EPEAT Registered Products” the brand owner must be an EPEAT MSE Subscriber.
To join the EPEAT MSE:
- Download the EPEAT Subscriber Information Form, MSE License and Subscriber Agreement, and EPEAT Subscriber Fees.
- Sign and return the set-up form and agreement to EPEAT. You may scan and email them, fax to +1 503 279-9381, or post paper copies to the address on the agreement.
- EPEAT will generate an invoice based on the information provided and forward it to the Primary and Billing Contacts. Upon receipt of payment, EPEAT will email set-up instructions, which allows your company to register an unlimited number of products for one year.
Once EPEAT has received your agreement and fee, your products can appear in the EPEAT registry as soon as we receive product listings approved by your PRE(s).
