NERC purchases EPEAT registered computers and displays

Over their lifetime, compared to products that do not meet EPEAT criteria, the 2 EPEAT registered electronics purchased by Northeast Recycling Council, Inc. in 2016 will result in environmental impact reductions including:

  • Reduce use of primary materials by 294 kg
  • Avoid the disposal of 2 kg of hazardous waste
  • Eliminate 11 kg of municipal solid waste
  • Avoidance of 1 kg of water pollutant emissions

Energy-Related Savings
EPEAT’s requirement that registered products meet, and often exceed, the latest ENERGY STAR specifications means these products will consume less energy throughout their useful life, resulting in:

  • Savings of 834 kWh of electricity
  • Reduction of 141 kg of greenhouse gas emissions
  • $86 in lifetime cost savings
