Clarification 14-1 Revision Posted

Conformity Assessment Training – September 30 – October 3, 2013 in Portland, OR, USA

Delegates will learn about the EPEAT® system, and conformance to the IEEE 1680.1 standard for computers and computer displays, the 1680.2 standard for imaging equipment and the 1680.3 standard for televisions, from product declaration through verification. Delegates who successfully complete the full 4-day training and pass the certificate exam will meet the training requirement to perform conformity assessment and verification investigations for an EPEAT-approved certification body.  

Manufacturers who take this course will gain in-depth knowledge of the system operations, the environmental requirements of the standards, and how to achieve and demonstrate conformance. You will learn in detail the product declaration process; the product, service and corporate criteria; and the verification process.

First Television Verification Round Launching in June

The first Television Verification Round will launch in June, 2013.  This round will focus on criteria that have been the subject of questions / inquiries from Subscribers. The Verification Round will investigate all verification requirements for six Imaging Equipment criteria for all active Subscribers (as applicable).  Details of this round can be found here.

EPEAT has just published a Clarification of IEEE criterion 4.6.2.1 for 1680.2 and 1680.3 as it pertains to the definition of “components, scrap, and materials derived from equipment from these exempt programs.

Verification Round 2013-02 for PC/Displays Launched

The second Verification Round of 2013 for Personal Computers and Displays (noted as PC-2013-02) is soon to be launched. This Round will focus on product take-back, and will randomly select a group of 38 products from a selection pool of Subscribers that have declared products against the chosen criterion.

Clarification 19 Revision Posted

It was brought to EPEAT’s attention that Clarification #19 should make reference to “audits” as opposed to “on-site audits”. The revised clarification addresses this.
