Becoming an EPEAT Partner
The goal of the EPEAT system is to make it easy for purchasers to select environmentally preferable electronic products and in doing so, reward manufacturers for their environmental design efforts and create environmental benefits.

To ensure that EPEAT ‘green’ electronics are easy to find and to purchase, EPEAT provides resources and support to purchasers, resellers and others working to advance environmental improvement in the electronics marketplace through EPEAT Partner programs. These programs and eligibility are described below.

EPEAT Partner Resellers commit to providing updated EPEAT registry information through their online catalogs and web portals, to ensure that purchasers know products’ registration status at time of purchase. They also commit to providing their sales force with orientation to EPEAT, so that they can knowledgably assist customers, and to helping purchasers to report on their annual EPEAT purchases by product type and tier. EPEAT Partner Resellers pay an annual membership fee based on sales. JOIN NOW!



Distributors can partner with EPEAT to provide EPEAT product rating information and marketing resources to their participating channel partners of all types. EPEAT works with distributors to present trainings, provide materials and promote their EPEAT activities. Through EPEAT partnership activities, distributors provide valuable support to their resellers partners, enabling them to knowledgeably respond to end users desire to green their IT operations. EPEAT Purchasing Partners are government, education, healthcare and nonprofit organizations that commit to improve their environmental performance by purchasing EPEAT registered products to the greatest extent feasible. Purchasing Partners report annually on their EPEAT purchasing and receive recognition for their EPEAT efforts. Organizations may participate individually or as part of an EPEAT program established by a Purchasing Partner Champion group. Participation in the EPEAT Purchasing Partner program is free of cost. Purchasing Champions

EPEAT Purchasing Champions are groups that seek to improve the environmental performance of their members or the general public by promoting the EPEAT Purchasing Partner program. For example an association may advise its member organizations to specify EPEAT products in contracts and become part of the EPEAT Purchasing Partner program, or a national environmental organization may encourage local chapters to become EPEAT Purchasing Partners as part of a larger Green IT initiative. Each organization can shape its activities to suit its capacities and organizational agenda – EPEAT staff work with Champions to support and recognize their activities. Contact us to learn more.



EPEAT Enterprise partners are for-profit businesses that work with EPEAT to support their green electronics purchasing efforts. Enterprise Partner annual membership fees are based on company size and provide access to purchaser training, contract development assistance, asset analysis reporting and environmental benefits assessment services. By partnering with EPEAT to obtain these services, EPEAT Enterprise Partners can develop materials for use in sustainability reporting and internal and external media, as well as being featured in EPEAT media outreach and web materials.
